We desire to equip and release well-formed disciple makers into the global Pioneers family, through hands-on mission and mentoring, within life-on-life intercultural teams.
Our Core Values
Spiritual & Character Formation
We believe ministry flows from who we are and our walk with God, more than what we do. We also recognize that we are all broken vessels needing help from the Spirit and our community to learn to live integrated lives that offer the hope and love of the Gospel to others.
We value interdependent, multicultural cross-pollination as a key aspect to becoming well-formed disciple makers and to fulfilling the Great Commission. Each DTC will seek cultural diversity within cohorts and among trainers where we intentionally and generously live and work together as “one-another” families.
Integrated Learning & Hands-On Mission
We value integrating theology, missiology, and theory immediately into the lives of disciple makers. We are a community of practitioners who learn by doing and then actively reflecting on our experiences alongside peers and mentors.
We desire that every DTC participant will highly value mentoring and being mentored, following the reproducible model of simple and humble mentoring they will experience in DTCs.
We aim to be accessible to all members of our global Pioneers community. This takes into account factors like finances, visas, language, mission practice, demographics and location, and is expressed in our intentional simplicity in food, accommodation, costs, and living together.
Reproducible & Contextually Expressed
We use training methods that are learner-focused, easily reproduced, and allow flexibility in style and specific content to best suit each DTC’s context. Our trainers are “guides on the sides” rather than “sages on stages.”
We endeavour to create opportunities for multiple language groups to participate. We recognize the diversity of language contexts in the Pioneers family and will seek to creatively meet such needs as each DTC is able.
