What would it look like if people from diverse backgrounds could come to a distinctly Pioneers community to experience extended, life-on-life training on a multicultural team? Where disciple-making is learned through intentional mentoring and hands-on practice among diaspora Unreached People Groups? Where our Pioneers Core Values are shared and caught in a team context touched by relationships from all corners of our movement? Where accessibility for all gateways and gracious koinonia is embedded in each team’s structure and DNA from the start?
This is the deep formation we aim for in Global Disciples Sydney.
We facilitate this through 3-5 month, pre-field training communities to serve as another option alongside current Mobilisation Gateways and field initiatives to equip our global family for longevity and fruitfulness on the field.
Did you know that over half the population of Sydney is non-European Australian? In fact, in Western Sydney where we are located, almost three-quarters of most households speak a language other than English in their homes! There are thriving immigrant communities from countries all over the world in Sydney. We live among these communities seeking to share the good news of Jesus with our neighbors, and equip you to do the same.
You will live and minister for 3-5 months with a globally diverse cohort of other pre-field missionaries, all hungry to learn and eager to practice living intentionally among the Unreached in Western Sydney.
Key components of Global Disciples Sydney include:
- Dorm-style living and community chores
- Weekly mentoring (in your heart language) and church planting coaching
- 2x weekly training sessions on spiritual, biblical, emotional/relational, cultural, missional, and team formation
- Learning tasks designed to apply what you learn right away, as the Spirit leads
- Deep partnership with local churches and Pioneer teams
